Private David H. Goodrick

The background of this North Irish Hoseman is not known at present, other than than he was probably from England.

David H. Goodrick enlisted or was called-up to the Hussars of the Line in 1916 or 1917 (regimental number 33050). Posted to the North Irish Horse, he probably trained at the regimental reserve camp at Antrim before embarking for France in 1917 or 1918.

In February-March 1918 the 1st NIH Regiment was dismounted and converted to a cyclist unit. This meant a 25 per cent reduction in the regiment's numbers, and it is probable that this was the time thatGoodrick was attached to a Hussars regiment. Records show he served in the 19th (Queen Alexandra’s Own Royal) Hussars, the 8th (King’s Royal Irish) Hussars and the 3rd (King’s Own) Hussars.

On 18 November 1919 he was demobilised and transferred to Class Z, Army Reserve.
